I am a bilingual British architect specializing in commissions in France for English speaking clients.
I am based in London as well as in the Poitou-Charentes region of France. I have done and I continue to undertake commissions all over the country.
My practice was established in 1985. I undertake renovations, conversions, and refurbishments as well as new building work . A typical project might involve the renovation of a farmhouse , or a barn conversion , or the construction of a new house . In the course of my career I have carried out a wide variety of projects , primarily in Britain and in France , but also in the Middle East. They testify to a broad range of experience from working on urban design schemes to furniture design , although the mainstay of my practice is domestic architectural work .
I am totally bilingual in French and English (French was my first language) , and I am registered with the Conseil de l'Ordre des Architectes in France . Apart from anything else, this allows me to submit building permit applications in connection with properties whose floor area exceeds 170 sqm. (currently the law in France requires that schemes whose floor area exceeds 170 sqm must be designed by an architect who is registered in France).
I do not just design buildings . My service also includes dealing with applications for permits such as a planning or building permit application , and I oversee building work on site . Personal service is fundamental to the way I operate, and that is one of the reasons why I continue to work alone . As my client's agent I am personally involved in every aspect of the project .
