Methodist Church in Deeping St. James

I was placed fourth in this open competition to design a new Methodist church and community facilities for the village of Deeping St James near Peterborough in England.
Despite the spatial constrictions of the site, I endeavoured to base the design of the entrance façade, illustrated below, on a symmetrical pattern in order to give the building presence and a sense of formality. Nevertheless, its scale and the proposed building materials are in sympathy with the surroundings.
